Michael J. Thompson founded MJT Interior Designs LLC in 2008. Michael began his professional career in 1994 with Fountain Studios, Inc, one of the most well respected interior design firms in Bergen County, New Jersey. At Fountain Studios, Michael completed projects throughout the New York metropolitan area, along the east coast and in several international locations.
Always refined, sophisticated and colorful, Michael’s work ranges in style from traditional to contemporary and his designs feature many subtle patterns with rich palettes. Whether decorating an elegant estate, a vacation home, a suburban house or a midtown loft, Michael’s mission is to connect his clients to their homes and have them enjoy and love their surroundings. Michael also has an extensive portfolio of commercial work that includes offices, banks and country clubs.
Michael is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology. His love of design has been a lifelong passion. Michael combines his experience and understanding of color, fabrics and furniture with a careful consideration of his client’s personal taste to create exquisitely detailed yet comfortable spaces. Preferring classic design trends, Michael’s vision and personal touch is enduring – as many of his current clients are the sons, daughters and grandchildren of previous clients.
